EMILIA ILLANA MAHIQUES
Nativa de Valencia (España), Emilia es profesora (lecturer) de español en la Universidad de Cornell. Estudió Educación en la Universidad de Valencia y tiene un Master de Literatura y Pedagogía de Lenguas Extranjeras en la Universidad de Delaware. Emilia completó su doctorado de Adquisición de Segundas Lenguas (SLA) en la Universidad de Iowa, donde enseñó cursos de español a nivel elemental e intermedio, así como a nivel superior, centrados en escritura y habla. También ha sido tutora en el Centro de Escritura en español. Sus principales intereses incluyen la pedagogía de la lengua, el desarrollo de la escritura en la segunda lengua, la revisión por pares en contextos online, y el aprendizaje de lenguas a través de la tecnología.

ALEJANDRO PÉREZ BELDA
Alejandro Pérez es profesor y coordinador de los programas de lenguas internacionales y lenguaje dual en la facultad de educación de la Universidad de Maryland. En su anterior etapa profesional, Alejandro fue maestro de educación dual. Alejandro obtuvo su doctorado en Educación Multilingüe en la Universidad de Iowa, en la cual también obtuvo un máster en lingüística hispánica. Anteriormente, obtuvo un máster en lingüística aplicada a la enseñanza del español en la Universidad de Jaén. Durante los últimos años Alejandro enseñó y supervisó cursos en la división de lenguas internacionales y en la facultad de educación de la Universidad de Iowa.

EMILIA ILLANA MAHIQUES
Native of Valencia (Spain), Emilia Illana is a Lecturer in Spanish at Cornell University. She holds a BA in Education at the University of Valencia and an M.A. in Foreign Language Literature and Pedagogy at the University of Delaware. She completed her Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition at The University of Iowa, where she taught Elementary and Intermediate Spanish courses, as well as upper level courses in Writing and in Speaking. She has also been a tutor at the Spanish Writing and Speaking Center. Her main research interests lie in language pedagogy, second language writing development, online peer reviewing, and technology enhanced learning.

ALEJANDRO PÉREZ BELDA
Alejandro Pérez is an Assistant Clinical Professor and the World Language/Dual Language programs Coordinator in the College of Education at the University of Maryland. A former dual language schoolteacher, Alejandro earned his PhD in Multilingual Education at the University of Iowa. He also has an MA in Applied Linguistics (Universidad de Jaén) and an MA in Hispanic Linguistics (University of Iowa). Alejandro previously taught and supervised for the Division of World Languages and the College of Education at the University of Iowa.
